-
My
name is Livio Campus.
-
I live in Rome
(Italy), where I work as a drummer and teacher of drums in various schools of
Rome.
-
I was born in 1979 in Sassari (Sardinia). In 1995 I started
studying drums and then I performed with many bands in different venues,
squares, stadiums and theatres of Sardinia.
-
In ….I recorded a demotape with an established local rock
band. The recording received positive response from the critics and gained
coverage in national and international specialized press. One of the tracks was
included in a special release cd, “Italian Experiences”, a compilation from
emerging bands of the italian national rock scene.
-
In ‘ 97 I moved to Naples and later to Rome, to further
enhance my instruction and develop my artistic formation with Enrico Del Gaudio
and Salvatore Corazza (both established professionals and teachers). While in
Rome I had the opportunity to perform with a diverse set of established
musicians, and in 2003 I attended an upper level course, “Big Band Jazz” (in
Umbria), offered under the direction of M.° Peppe Vessicchio and the instruction
of Fernando Brusco, Eric James Daniel, Ettore Gentile.
-
In 2004 I was selected to enter the artistic project
“Cinecittà Campus” (under the direction of Maurizio Costanzo and Ernesto Assante)
out of the pool of over 7000 international applicants.
-
I further specialized in the study of Dave Weckl’s methods
for drums, and I sharpened my technique for jazz, latin, fusion.
-
Throughout the years 1997-2004 I was intensively engaged in
live concerts and studio recordings.
-
In 2003 I started my teaching activity in two (major) music
schools of Rome, “Semicroma” and “Lady Music”.
